Coffee Break ☕
I’ve decided to change up my monthly updates (again, lol). I just wanted to do something a little more fun and interactive! So here’s what I’ve come up with: 3 things that I’m loving right now!
Favorite Tool:
I’m a lefty, and finding a pen that I like that is cute, functional, doesn’t smudge, and actually writes well is a challenge. But I think I’ve finally done it! The Pentel EnerGel Pearl Retractable Liquid Gel Pen has been AMAZING so far. I had to buy them in all of the colors. So, my dear fellow lefties, if you’re struggling to find a pen that works for you, I’d give these a shot!
What I Read:
I love supporting small authors, and I found this book very interesting! It gets a little repetitive toward the end, but I still found it pretty well written and it held my attention almost the whole way through.
I haven’t read a whole lot of sports romances, and I know NOTHING about hockey, but I was still able to understand everything. If you’re looking for something low-cost, easy to read, and fun give Icing by Chris Savage a read.
Fuel & Background Noise:
I have a confession to make: I pretty much only drink water when I take my vitamins at night. And I am zero percent ashamed to admit I run on soda and coffee!
My day usually starts with an iced mocha amalgamation. My current recipe? 4 cups of decaf coffee (I have to watch my caffeine intake) mixed with International Delight Mocha Iced Coffee in a glass container, chilled, then poured over pellet ice in a metal tumbler. I usually go through one or two of these a day.
Right around lunch, while the kids are napping, I crack open a garage-fridge-chilled Coca-Cola at my desk, followed closely by that second iced coffee. I always have a drink within arm’s reach (and then wonder why I’m constantly running to the bathroom).
As for background noise, I am huge on podcasts and YouTube playlists—basically anything I can listen to that isn’t music. Right now, I have Watcher’s Mystery Files playing on low volume. Truthfully, I’ve probably listened to every episode three times over! I’m a creature of habit who rewatches comfort shows, but every week or so, I’ll change it up and switch to another comfort-creator’s playlist.

Current Project
On Set Book 2 is officially in the works!
I’m currently deep in the first draft and mapping out the story’s roadmap. The first few weeks were a total whirlwind—I knocked out over 15,000 words, plotted out the main arcs, and felt like I was flying!
Last week, I hit a bit of a slow patch and lost a little steam… I logged about 2,000 words over four days while getting caught up in admin tasks (and, okay, maybe a little goofing off). But after a much-needed breath, I’m feeling recharged and ready to jump right back in the saddle.
